Two-step wonder (Step one)

I can see myself looking back,
I can feel my mind wondering,
In a few years’ time,
On how life would have been..

The one thing you taught me,
Without ever saying a word about it,
Without even being aware of it,
Is that everything is possible.

I got you before I got crow’s feet,
I got you after spending years thinking that’ll never be.

It was,
It will be inscribed in my youth,
I am sure it was carved somewhere.

Un giorno guardero' al passato,
Posso gia' sentire la mia mente che pensa:
chissa' come poteva essere la mia vita.

Quello che mi hai lasciato,
senza dire una parola,
senza neppure esserne cosciente,
mi hai insegnato che tutto e' possibile.

Ti ho avuto,
prima di avere le zampe di gallina,
Ti ho avuto dopo anni
in cui pensavo non sarebbe stato mai.

Era,
E' impresso nei miei vent'anni,
era scolpito,
ma non so dove.
